TRIBUTE
Lucius was a quintessential Umuahian. He was a driven individual a defender of lost causes. The History of GCU will not be written without the name of Lucius Nwosu looming large. The rebirth of GCU was a project close to his heart. He was unapologetic, brash in pushing the Umuahian project. The Umuahian family might have members with deeper pockets but the indefatigable Lucius (Papa Doc) was our biggest benefactor. He was impatient at most times with our collective efforts, maybe he had a premonition of his time on earth coming to an end.
He was not standoffish and was ready to join our numerous debates on our Umuahian forums. Two days to his sleeping with the Lord he was his ebullient self, cajoling and prompting us to do more.
Lucius has left a big gap that will be difficult to fill. Like the MOSES of the Old Testament, he led us to the promised land (restored Government College Umuahia).
May our good Lord grant his immediate family the fortitude and strength to bear his loss.
May he Rest in Perfect Peace.

The Government College Umuahia was founded by Reverend Robert Fisher on January 29, 1929 when he opened the gates of the school to 25 students drawn from all parts of Nigeria and West Africa, but with catchment in Eastern Nigeria, and the Southern Cameroons.
