REMINDER:

THE GOVT COLLEGE UMUAHIA ENDOWMENT FUND.

Fellow Umuahians
We are now on the cusp of restarting the Government College Umuahia of our dreams. As we embarked on this journey we were well aware of the ultimate challenge of sustainability.
We were aware that central to sustainability is the availability of funds to support our school and programs such as :
– assistance to students with demonstrable financial needs

– maintenance and improvement of our physical campus

– supporting future capital projects

– support and improvement of the learning environment through Staff recruitment, retention and Quality improvement initiatives.

We envision that the GCU Endowment Fund will be the ultimate repository of various donations, gifts, and grants etc made toward the improvement and sustainability of Government College Umuahia. Such gifts, when specified by the donor(s) can be self directed .

Central to its mission The Fund will seek to provide different levels of scholarships and bursaries to admitted students who have demonstrated need for financial assistance.

The GCU Endowment Fund is owned, supported and managed by the Old Boys.

A committee of Old Boys led by experts in the field has been working over the past two months to set up this Fund.

A launching event is planned very soon.

Like other Endowment Funds, the GCUOBA Endowment Funds will be invested for Income and Growth. The income will be Spent Down to support and fund our initiatives and programs. Gains will be reinvested to grow and sustain the Endowment Fund and its mission.

The involvement of every Old Boy is required for the success of this Fund . The Endowment Fund Committee appreciates ALL contacts, access to contacts, ….private, institutional or corporate that ANY of us provides.

We always knew our Umuahian Project would be a marathon.
The race is now joined
God will give us strength .

And as Always… In Unum Luceant
